Paper Sweeties November Release Rewind

Wednesday, November 15, 2017

Evening, y'all!  Just popping in to wrap up a Paper Sweeties November Release with one final, festive creation.
I started this card by stamping a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of watercolor paper several times, in Jet Black ink, with the holly image and hashtag sentiments.  I then watercolored the holly and added white Gelly Roll pen accents to the berries.  A slightly smaller piece of vellum was run through my Big Shot to get the snowfall texture and anchored, in the center of the watercolored piece, with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching before popping it up, with foam tape, in the center of the Riding Hood Red, cardstock, card face.

I then die-cut the For You tag from a large, polka dot print; backed it with cheesecloth; and popped it up, with foam tape, near the left edge, in the vertical center of the the card face.  It was topped with a stamped, in Garden Green ink, on a Wild Wasabi die cut, Hello Spring wreath, embellished with white Gelly Roll pen berries; a die-cut, gold, cardstock, Joy Sweet Cuts "Believe" sentiment; and a die-cut, text print bow, dressed up with a red button, laced with white string.
A double, white, seam binding ribbon bow, embellished with a lone pearl, backed with a Baker's Twine bow, completes the look.
That wraps things up for this month, folks.  Debbie has asked me to continue guest designing through the New Year, so I guess y'all are stuck with me for a bit longer.  There won't be a new release next month; but we'll be back on the first with the monthly Inspiration Challenge, and we've also got a number of holiday blog hops in the works.  So, the inspiration will keep coming all December long.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be blessed, friends!

Paper Sweeties November Release Party

Tuesday, November 14, 2017

Welcome back, y'all!  I've got a super cute set of tags to continue Paper Sweeties' November Release celebrations, for you all, today.
I started these tags by cutting 2-3/4" squares from watercolor paper.  I then stamped that playful, Santa suit square in Jet Black ink and watercolored it.

A glitter Gelly Roll pen adds just the right amount of sheen for a gold buckle.  Dazzling Diamonds dresses up Santa's white trim and gloves; and Glossy Accents smooths over the buttons perfectly.  I also used Early Espresso and Riding Hood Red markers for some of the itty bitty details on the stamps.
I then punched the top of each tag with a 3/16" hole punch and laced them with a little Baker's Twine to make them easy to attach to packages and complete the look.  I'm planning on using those little envelope labels to write my recipient's names on their packages.  I'm just not that on top of things yet ;).
Be sure to stop in to see what the Design Team has been working on; and thanks, as always, for visiting!  Hugs!

Paper Sweeties November Sneak Peek

Monday, November 13, 2017

Evening, y'all!  It's that time again... Time for a fabulous, new, November Release from Paper Sweeties.  This one is simply oozing with goodies to help your holiday spirits soar!  We have two new stamp sets, You Better Not Pout and Meet Me Under the Mistletoe, and one coordinating, Meet Me Under the Mistletoe die set to show off over the next few days.  So, let's just get things started.  Shall we?
I started this card by anchoring both star and bright-pink, striped prints, overlaid with a torn piece of snowflake vellum, onto a slightly larger piece of Rose Red cardstock, with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitching.

I then stamped the top center of the prepped piece, in Jet Black ink, with the "Meet me under the mistletoe" sentiment before popping it off the white, cardstock, card face with foam tape.
The text tree was then silver-embossed on a Basic Gray, cardstock die cut and popped up with foam tape in the center of the card face.
A scrumptious, double, Strawberry seam binding ribbon bow, embellished with a perfectly-matched gemstone, backed with a twine bow, and scattering of silver star sequins complete the look.
Further inspiration for this card came from Inspired by All the Little Things' Challenge #72.

That gets us rolling, but I'd love to see you all right back here at the same time and place tomorrow to see even more of what Paper Sweeties has to offer this month.  In the meantime, be sure to stop in to see what the Design Team has whipped up for your viewing pleasure.  Thanks so much for peeking; and have a wonderful start to your work weeks, friends!

Pretty Little Studio: Feeling Blessed

Welcome to the work week, y'all!  I'm up on the Pretty Little Studio blog this morning, sharing another fall-inspired page, using a happy mix of collections.  You just can't beat how smoothly they all weld together!
I started this page by adding puddles of yellow watercolor to the 12" x 12" watercolor paper, base page.  I then splattered it with yellow, orange, and aqua watercolors before stamping different sizes of striped circles in Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Coral Calypso inks and splattering the page once again but this time with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  A quartet of coordinating prints from the Feels Like Fall and Oakley Avenue collections were anchored, with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching, behind my photo which was matted with white cardstock, backed with a snippet of cheesecloth, and flanked with a couple of Feelin' Fallish woodgrain arrows.  A "LOVELY" So Lovely Bingo Card crowns my photo stack and was topped with an "autumn" Fall Phrases Die Cut, popped up with foam tape.
A cluster, which includes Autumn Blossom Die Cuts; a Walk in the Park floral die cut; hand-cut, from Oakley Avenue's Pretty Poppies Vellum, poppy; and a Fall Memories Flair Button, backed with gold thread, dresses up the top left corner of my photo...
and a collection of "feeling blessed", which happens to serve as my title, Fall Phrases and "go outside/stay inside" Park Bench Cut-Aparts, as well as a "HELLO HELLO" Feelin' Fallish Die Cut, top it.
Moving clockwise, another hand-cut, vellum poppy and Autumn Blossom Die Cut, popped up with foam tape, in addition to a hand-cut, from Summer Vibes' Flower Crown print, orange bloom, round out the right side of my photo.
The bottom left corner was dressed up with a "fall" Orchard Words Die Cut, popped up with foam tape, as well as a Sprinkles Bookmark butterfly and collection of blooms already previously included above.
The cluster in the top left corner of the page includes a Sprinkles Bookmark and butterfly; Watercolor Shipping Tag, laced with white string, tied in a bow; My Everyday Cut-Apart Label; Perfect Day Cut-Apart heart; "smile" Park Bench Cut-Apart; Autumn Blossom Die Cut, popped up with foam tape; Feelin' Fallish Die-Cut arrow; hand-cut, vellum poppy; and trailing, hand-cut, Flower Crown bloom.
A scattering of Seaspray Sequins; Flower Crown Clear and Butterfly Bush Stickers...
and stamped, in Jet Black ink, "NOV 5 2011" date complete the look.
Further inspiration for this page came from Sketches In Thyme's Sketch #299.

Thanks, as always, for humbling me with a visit!  Have a wonderful week, friends!

PLS Pinterest Inspired: This Is Home

Tuesday, November 7, 2017

Morning, y'all!  I'm up on the Pretty Little Studio blog today with a page inspired by the Pinterest photo below and wanted to share it here, too.  Aside from pulling in the colors aqua and yellow, using Feels Like Fall was a no-brainer; and I know the photograph probably boasts a shed of some sort, but I saw house and decided to use a cute, little, house stamp to create a background to highlight a photo of my own cute, little home.
I started this page by adding a puddle of orange watercolor behind where my photo would eventually lie.  I then splattered everything with orange, blue, aqua, and yellow watercolors.  Once everything was dry, I penciled in a grid design and stamped my house image, in successive Daffodil Delight, Brocade Blue, and Coastal Cabana inks, in each quadrant.  After the grid was erased, I splattered everything once again but this time with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.

I then printed my journaling on vellum; cut it down to size; and anchored its outside, vertical edges with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching.  I won't pen all that was written here; but if you're interested in reading such, it is an excerpt taken from my previous, Home Sweet Home post.  My photo, which was matted with white cardstock, was then backed with scraps of Feeling Playful and Feeling Blessed, both of which were anchored with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching, as well as a snippet of cheesecloth, and sandwiched between my journaling.  I tucked a "THIS IS HOME" Crisp Air 3x4 Pocket Card, which I hand-cut into a banner, under the left side of my photo to serve as my title.  A Watercolor Shipping Tag, laced with white string, tied in a bow, was tucked under it.
Both elements were grounded with a happy cluster that includes a Feelin' Fallish Die-Cut arrow; "GOOD LIFE" Feeling Blessed Word Flag; Fall Favorites Flair Button, backed with a tangle of gold thread; Hello Fox Cut-Apart circle; and an Autumn Blossom Die Cut, dressed up with a few embroidery-floss, French knots.  A number of these goodies were also popped up with foam tape for some fabulous dimension.
A couple of Fall Word Sticker phrases and another Hello Fox Cut-Apart circle, popped up with foam tape, round out the left side of the design...
and take us clockwise to the Winter Joy Tab in the photo's top right corner.  I just love the way this element brings in more of that scrumptious, gold sheen.
A "grateful hearts" Fall Phrases Die Cut, popped up with foam tape, not to mention a healthy dose of Clear Skies Sequins, scattered throughout, completes the look.
Further inspiration for this page came from Scrap Our Stash's November 1st Tic-Tac-Toe Stash Challenge.  I chose tab, fall theme, and journal card for a vertical tic-tac-toe down the center of the board.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a terrific Tuesday, friends!  Hugs!

The Studio Mirror Image Challenge

Sunday, November 5, 2017

Morning, friends!  Just popping in with the first November challenge from The Studio.  It's a Mirror Image Challenge to create a layout where one side of your page mirrors the other.  I have to admit that I started this one out with good intentions, matching patterns side to side.  I even tucked a tag into the bottom outside corners of both photos and chose a floral die cut perfect for the occasion, but I struggled to carry the mirror image idea through to completion.  I won't make excuses.  I'll just let you decide for yourselves.  Enjoy!
I started this page by smudging and splattering Cherry Glimmer Mist onto the ledger, patterned paper, base page.  I also splattered it with a little Patina Glimmer Mist.  Once it was dry, I rubbed Broken China Distress Ink through a vertically-placed, chevron stencil and splattered everything once again but this time with Sunshine Yellow, Pure Black, and Titanium White acrylic paints.  A few dotted arrows were hand-cut from a patterned print and anchored with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching.  I then tore a number of strips from various, coordinating, patterned prints and adhered them vertically, once again, being mindful to mirror the prints from side to side.  A strip of cheesecloth was then added behind my pair of photos which were matted with white cardstock.  The doily behind my left-side photo throws things off a bit; but the "you're the best" chipboard tag, laced with white string...
was mirrored on the right with a manila tag, laced with white string, tied in a bow.  A hand-cut label, etched with the May 6, 2016, date, was popped up in the right-side photo's bottom right corner and topped with a wood veneer heart.
The front and back of the manila tag houses my journaling which reads, I just love to see you both get so excited about opening the next school year's curriculum boxes.  Sometimes, your eyes roll back in dread of continuing your study of the things you struggled with previously, but they also light up in anticipation of all the new things you'll get to learn.
A couple of additional, wood veneer hearts can be found above the snail die-cut...
crawling towards my "crazy good Everyday moments" title.  The "crazy good" part of the title was stamped in Jet Black ink.  The remainder was created from die cuts, and a "brilliant" epoxy sticker grounds it.
It was further embellished with a chipboard flower and trio of stamped, in Jet Black ink, phrases.
My photos were then crowned with a large, floral die cut; and a couple of additional chipboard, floral elements, as well as a hand-cut, from patterned paper, butterfly, complete the look.
Further inspiration for this page came from Citrus Twist Kits' October 28th 3-to-Inspire Challenge to (1) stamp part of your title, (2) incorporate three hearts, and (3) add a floral element.

Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see what my talented teammies have cooked up just for your viewing pleasure.  Then, you have until Sunday, December 3, 2017, to link up your takes in the right-hand column of The Studio blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a blessed week, friends!

Pretty Little Studio: Falling for You

Friday, November 3, 2017

Evening, y'all!  I'm up on the Pretty Little Studio blog today, playing with Heather Doolittle's newest collection, Feels Like Fall.  Aside from the theme being based upon my absolute favorite season, I cannot tell you how much I adore the colors in this collection!  There's something for both masculine and feminine creations and everything in between.  Yay!
I started this page by adding orange and yellow, watercolor puddles and splatters to the 12" x 12" watercolor paper, base page.  A few blue, watercolor splatters also tie a number of embellishments into the design.  I then stamped three different leaves, in Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, and Coastal Cabana inks, in vertical columns pointing down.  Tip: Use a ruler to etch soft, pencil lines, which easily erase once you're done, for a nice, straight pattern.  I then splattered everything with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints, before adding a little texture, through a lattice stencil, with modeling paste.  I then adhered a few Lovely Leaves Die Cuts to follow the same pattern as the stamped leaves and anchored a number of coordinating 8x8 prints with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching.  The latter were then topped with a snippet of cheesecloth, folded sheet of Feeling Warm Gold Metallic Vellum, and my photo which was matted with white cardstock.  That set the stage for lots of scrumptious embellishments, beginning to the bottom left of the photo itself.  I tucked a Watercolor Shipping Tag, laced with Baker's Twine, tied in a bow, under the loose elements and topped it with a Fox & Friends Die Cut, popped up with foam tape, as well as a couple of stamped, in Chocolate Chip ink, on Crumb Cake cardstock, and hand-cut acorns.
The opposite, bottom, right corner was dressed up with a Fall Away Arrow from last year's fall Oakley Avenue Collection and "JUST PERFECT" Feeling Blessed Word Flag, topped with both a "blessed" Fall Phrase Die Cut and Fall Favorites Flair Button, backed with a tangle of gold thread.
A combined trio of Cut-Apart Fall Phrases and an Oakley Avenue's Feelin' Fallish Die Cut, as well as a Fall Label Cut-Apart, stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "NOV 05 2011" date, and another acorn, prepared in the same way as the two above, ground the design.
A couple of stamped, in Jet Black ink, fall phrases and mixture of Sunsational, Seaspray, and Snowcone Sequins complete the look.
Further inspiration for this page came from Colorful Creations' November 1st Thankful Challenge.  I couldn't possibly be any more thankful for my big kiddo at the time this photo was taken and now.  I also didn't want to leave y'all without sharing Pretty Little Studio's November Freebie with any $24 or more purchase.  Be sure to click here to add it to your cart BEFORE checking out.  It will NOT be automatically added to your cart.  So pretty!
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a blessed weekend, friends!

Paper Sweeties November Inspiration Challenge #61

Tuesday, October 31, 2017

Hey, y'all!  November will be upon us before most of you ever read this; and that means a fabulous, new, inspiration challenge is up over at Paper Sweeties.  The graphic below inspired me to create a little number in celebration of the upcoming, Thanksgiving holiday here in the United States.  Here's my take on it.

I started this card by stamping and masking Jake; the wagon and leafy pumpkins, fittingly, from Sweeties Wagon; and basket of apples from Stand Add-On: Fall Harvest on a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of watercolor paper.
All of the images, including the pumpkins from Stand Add-On: Fall Harvest and Jake's clothing from Gobble Gobble, which were stamped on scrap pieces of watercolor paper and hand-cut out, were stamped in Jet Black, waterproof ink and watercolored.
The hand-cut set of pumpkins were popped up, with foam tape, in front of the wagon and basket images; and the apples received a healthy dose of Glossy Accents.  The "Happy Turkey Day" sentiment from Gobble Gobble, which, too, was stamped in Jet Black ink, creates a playful wish for such a special day.
The buckles around Jake's waist and on his hat were given a hint of shine with a glitter Jelly Roll pen.  Before his hat was popped up with foam tape, the top edge of the prepped piece was dressed up with a strip of multicolored, floral, patterned paper; the entire thing was framed with Ruby Red cardstock and red-threaded, straight, machine stitching; and a length of Baker's Twine was wrapped around it three times, just below the patterned print, before being tied, in a bow, near its left edge.
The watercolored piece itself was then popped up, with more foam tape, in the center of the Kraft, cardstock, card face; and a length of white, seam binding ribbon, tied in a double bow and embellished with a lone, red gemstone, complete the look.
Here's this month's Inspiration Challenge #61 graphic to get you creating in the right direction.

Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to get all your challenge details.  Thanks so much for stopping by; and, to those of you right here in the good, ol' U.S.A, may your Thanksgiving holiday be extra blessed!
